This was another fun project. The biggest challenge for this build was matching the décor of the house. This house was beautifully decorated with rustic furniture and worn wood all over the place. Luckily, I had recently bought a bunch of old oak fence boards from a rancher. This wood is very raw and distressed but still very strong and in great shape under all the wear. I scraped just enough to show the detail in the wood leaving plenty of old paint attached. It was a pretty simple build, I mitered the corners, beveled the edges and rabbited enough to fit the mirror. I attached the miters with pocket screws and finished it with a satin poly. I fit the room great! It was nice to use the wood in it’s natural state for this project.
